Modern Slavery Act Review
ACRATH and Catholic Religious Australia (CRA), welcomed the opportunity to provide a submission to the federal government review into the operation and compliance of the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth).
The submission acknowledged the existence of the Modern Slavery Act as a positive thing and also
affirmed the existence of a publicly available and an easy-to-access register of Modern Slavery statements.
At the same time there is room for improvement. ACRATH and CRA provided 6 recommendations for
making the Modern Slavery Act 2018 more robust thereby building legislation to stop human
trafficking.
