Defend Victims of Modern Slavery

While in Western Australia sharing some of his experiences of missionary work in Taiwan, Columban priest Fr Peter O’Neill SSC told his audience that the Church needs to “show the love of Christ towards migrants and defend those who are victims of human trafficking. We have to be the voice of the voiceless.” A member of ACRATH, Fr Peter is drawing on his past experience as he engages in raising awareness about human trafficking and forced marriage in Australia. Along with another ACRATH member, Sr Louise Cleary csb, he recently spoke to Victorian Community Chaplains  and to staff at CatholicCare about the issue of forced marriage.  (Photo: The Record)
