Changes Sought for Labour Brokers in Australia

ACRATH has joined with a network of NGO’s including, Justice & International Mission Synod of Victoria and Tasmania Uniting Church in Australia, Walk Free and the Salvation Army, seeking regulation of labour hire companies in Australia. ACRATH has expressed deep concern to the Justice Minister Michael Keenan of the human trafficking into some Australian industries, such as farming, food processing, construction and hospitality. ACRATH has called on Minister Keenan to set up a licensing system of labour brokers in Australia to provide meaningful oversight of the labour brokering industry.
