Determined to End Slavery
Australia’s Foreign Minister, Senator Marise Payne, spoke of Australia’s determination to end modern slavery at the Stepping Up Action to End Forced Labour, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking event at the United Nations in New York. Senator Payne commented on Australia’s history of working domestically and internationally to end human trafficking and slavery.
At the same event a joint statement was issued from the Governments of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the United States concerning Principles to guide Government action to combat human trafficking in global supply chains. A copy of the joint statement can be accessed here.
