Fair Trade Fortnight 7-22 May 2011

Help people avoid being trafficked into slavery.

Products with the Fair Trade logo have been made without the use of slave labour.  Meaningful employment means a person has a regular income, is able to have more control over their life and so is less vulnerable to being trafficked.  When you purchase Fair Trade goods you are helping people to trade out of poverty.

Look for the Fair Trade logo when you are purchasing products such as chocolate, tea and coffee.

Visit shops that specialise in Fair Trade Products – The Trading Circle (an initiative of the Good Shepherd Sisters), Ethica Accessories (Sisters of St Joseph Peruvian Project), Oxfam and many others.  For more information visit the Fair Trade Website.
