Nestlé Eradicating Child Labour From Its Supply Chain
In recent months Nestlé invited the Fair Labour Association (FLA) to conduct an audit of its cocoa supply chain in Côte d’Ivoire to determine how to continue improving practices to help eliminate child labour, ensure a sustainable supply of cocoa, and help farmers run profitable farms. The FLA made eleven recommendations, all of which Nestlé has accepted and is acting upon.
In Australia, Nestlé is well on track to reach its goal that all cocoa – 1600 tonnes – will be UTZ certified by the end of 2012.
