Human Cost of Modern Slavery

With Easter nearly here we should remember the human cost of modern slavery. Particularly at this time of year when we all will be shopping for chocolate it’s important to shop ethically.

This Easter make sure the chocolate you buy for friends, family or just for ourselves is marked with the symbol for fair trade, UTZ or rainforest alliance.

An article from the Washington Post in mid 2019 reported on the child labour that is sadly still prevalent in the cocoa industry. Teachers and student may wish to use this article and its exceptional photographs as a resources while discussing trafficking. Access article here.
