International Day for the Abolition of Slavery – 2 December 2010

Kim’s Wild Books Campaign

I am marking this day by liberating over 100 new books ‘into the wild’ using bookcrossing.com.

Books will be left in public places all over Australia. Each book has been labelled with a unique BookCrossing ID number (BCID) and those who find a book may log it at bookcrossing.com. They then read and re-release it at a later date. Some of the books being released include 30 copies of Somaly Mam’s biography, ‘The Road of Lost Innocence’, 20 copies of Patricia McCormick’s ‘Sold’ and 50 copies of ‘Slave Girl’ by Sarah Forsyth.
