Modern Slavery in the Pacific

A report on the reality of modern slavery in the Pacific was launched recently. The report, issued by Walk Free and the Minderoo Foundation, identifies cases of slavery in the Pacific including the extremely exploitative practices of forced labour, the worst forms of child labour, and forced and early marriage. Factors contributing to vulnerability to slavery in the region are outlined. Governments in the region are urged to collaborate and tackle this issue as a priority. Read more…
