New UN Special Rapporteur

Maria Grazia Giammarinaro

At the 26th session of the UN Human Rights Council on Friday 27th June 2014 the Council President announced the appointment of Ms. Maria Grazia Giammarinaro as the new Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons, especially in women and children. Recently an Italian penal judge and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s Special Representative  and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, Ms. Giammarinaro replaces the former rapporteur, Ms. Joy Ngozi Ezeilo.
