Partnering with SVHA
To honour St Josephine Bakhita Day (Feb 8th) this year, the Advocates for Change at St Vincent’s Health Australia (SVHA in Melbourne chose to set up a week long window display for the passing public to view from the street.
The awareness-raising display featured ACRATH’s work in advocating against all forms of Modern Slavery. Particularly poignant was the use of images depicting the story of a trafficked women. The images, painted by Sr Venus Marie Pegar sfx, can be found in I Have a Voice: Trafficked women – in their own words by Sr Angela Reed rsm and Marietta Latonio.
ACRATH thanks their supporters for all of their ongoing support. In 2021 we invite you to Make One Change in your lifestyle which contributes to a better life for anyone who may be subject to being trafficked or forced into marriage. A good place to start might be to purchase only Easter eggs bearing one of the following logos on the wrapper to send a message you are against child labour in the cocoa industry.
