RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Yrs 11-12: Catholic Social Teaching; Social Justice; Belief Systems.  Issues for Aboriginal spiritualities in relation to: – the effect of dispossession – the Land Rights movement.  All aspects of Human Trafficking including Companionship, Support for Seasonal Workers & Forced Marriage and training for priests as marriage celebrants.
Yr 10: Social Justice Unit

CIVICS AND CITIZENSHIP
Yrs 9-10: - how laws are developed, contributions of civil society and religious groups and individual citizens.

ECONOMICS
Yrs 11-12: Trade Unions & working conditions; Rights & Responsibilities; Taxation (avoidance of), Production methods. Income from criminal activities. Supply chains

ENGLISH
Yr 10: Public Speaking and Debating topics relating to HT
Yrs 9-12: Essay writing; Selection of texts which refer to HT.  (One great book about FM is called 'Promising Azra' which could go in as an English text suggestion.)

GEOGRAPHY
Yrs 8-10: -Mapping of countries where HT is rife e.g. West Africa cocoa plantations, Democratic Republic of the Congo and cobalt mines; Bangladesh and clothing sweat shops; Philippines and Indonesia with forced labour and sexual exploitation; Pacific Islands & Timor Leste and Seasonal workers as well as bonded labour; Countries experiencing war and natural disasters that make people prone to HT (e.g. Ukraine, Palestine, Syria, Myanmar, Sudan etc) Fisheries.

HEALTH/PHYSICAL EDUCATION/SPORT
Yrs 9-10: Topics in Health; Sport Balls and Sporting equipment; Charity Runs focussed on supporting anti HT Forced Marriage and oppressive conditions experienced by some workers
VCAA Unit 4 : Health and Human Development: Health Global Perspectives; Social Action Sub Topic

MATHEMATICS
Use of HT statistics in teaching graphs (e.g. AFP statistics of reported offences.)

HISTORY
Yrs 9-12: Australian History of Exploitation of workers e.g. Kanaka (Pacific Islander) exploitation in Queensland and Aboriginals working on stations for food and shelter only; Colonization; Christmas Island and payment in tokens that could only be redeemed in-house;
Yr 11: British History and slavery in the Caribbean and the Anti-Slavery movement; -USA slavery

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Yrs 10-12: Undertaking research of Websites including ACRATH and AntiSlavery Australia for example; Developing mock web sites; Use of child labour in some cobalt mines. Slavery in the IT supply chains.

LEGAL STUDIES
Yrs 11-12: Anti-Slavery legislation; Supply Chains and government regulations/laws; Legal rights; Labour Hire; Awards and working conditions; Government Seasonal Workers program; Illegal activities and AFP

PERFORMING ARTS
Yrs 10-12: Drama: Research HT Issue and plan and perform in a public forum on the issue.
Yrs 7-10: Music: Singing of old slavery songs & chants
Yrs 11-12: Composing songs relating to modern day slavery like ‘Can You See Me’

POLITICS
Yrs 9-12: How laws are made. Ways to advocate for change. Impact of Anti-Slavery laws and regulations.

PSYCHOLOGY
Yrs 11-12: Case studies. Counselling techniques

TECHNOLOGY
Yrs 10-12: Materials Technology Textiles & Clothing; Materials Technology Food and Hospitality Industry

VISUAL ARTS
Yrs 9-12: Painting and Drawing of scenes involving HT (e.g. Agricultural labourers,) Visual Communication and advertising packaging, Designing posters for campaigns (e.g. Chocolate, Tea, Coffee)
