Focus on Garment Supply Chain
STOP THE TRAFFIK will be hosting forums in Sydney, Melbourne and North Adelaide in August and September, 2013. The forums will focus on the garment supply chain and particularly the impact of the Sumangali schemes used by garment manufacturers in Tamil Nadu, India. This little known aspect of human trafficking in the spinning, weaving and dyeing of cotton for knitted fabrics, will be the focus of our Fashion Victims campaign later in 2013 and 2014.
In Sydney and Melbourne we will be joined by Anita Kanaiya, CEO of Oasis India. Anita has been leading the work of Oasis India in the rescue and rehabilitation of girls and women from being trafficked into these schemes. To register please click on one of the following links:
