Stop Traffiking! – April 2025

Stop Trafficking!

The April 2025 edition of Stop Trafficking! is now available. This edition looks at the nexus between Statelessness and Human Trafficking.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees reports there are millions of people around the world who are denied the right to a nationality, they are not recognised as citizens by any country leaving them stateless. Without state recognition people are denied their human rights including the right to go to school, work legally, access healthcare or get married. This results in a higher level of risk with regard to exploitation, abuse and human trafficking.

Articles in this issue include:

  • Introduction to Statelessness
  • Reasons for Statelessness
  • Difference between a Stateless Person and a Refugee
  • Surviving Statelessness and Trafficking
  • Statelessness and Human Trafficking in Several Countries Globally
