How I can be a member?

Membership is as simple as meeting with the Regional Co-Ordinator

over a coffee about ACRATH and what we do.

We invite you to attend a couple of meetings to meet our other members, and if you decide you would like to join, a more formal nomination/acceptance process is carried out.

ACRATH values new members and encourages them to get involved in activities and projects. They are encouraged to select ones that interest them and match their skill or their current/former occupation.

How you can help? Some current options.

  • You can contribute to campaigns to eliminate slavery in supply chains, such as promoting the ACRATH annual slavery-free Easter Campaign in the lead-up to Easter and our ongoing campaign to get slavery-free tea and coffee in all workplace tearooms.
  • If you have a teaching background or are a confident public speaker, you could join our Awareness Raising Team. You would be trained to use the ACRATH Presentations or ACRATH PowerPoints Kit to give presentations on human trafficking in education and community sectors.
  • If you work in the technology sector, you could join our Communications Group; we are currently developing a podcast series.
  • If you hve an Event/Fundraising background, you could take the lead or contribute to an awareness-raising, member recruitment or fundraising event.
  • If you have advocacy skills, you could join our Advocacy Team or contribute your ideas to a current advocacy project
  • Or just bring yourself, a positive attitude and a fresh perspective.

Members support the objectives of ACRATH and associated ativities of ACRATH's work. They receive newsletters and information about current work, projects and news within the anti-trafficking space.

What do we do to combat Modern Slavery?

  • Walks alongside victims and survivors of human trafficking; in 2023 we are providied support to 41 women and their 39 children. We also reach out to seasonal workers from Timor Leste and the Pacific, linking them with local communities in Australia.
  • Advocates to address issues that adversely affect victim/survivors of human trafficking
  • Raises awareness of human trafficking and modern slavery to government policy makers and the wider community.
  • Builds our own sustainability to ensure our future as an agent of change.
