Australian Institute of Criminology Report Released
The Trafficking in Persons Monitoring Report Jan 2009-June 2011 was recently released by the Attorney General Nicola Roxon, the Minister for Home Affairs and Justice Jason Clare and the Minister for the Status of Women Julie Collins. In her media release Attorney General Nicola Roxon stated: “These reports show that people are not only trafficked for sex but for forced labour, servile marriage and domestic servitude…the work of the AIC is crucial in helping us to understand how and why trafficking in occurring so that we can combat it effectively.’
