First Conviction of Trafficking a  Child for Prostitution

An Australian newspaper has reported that a 41 year old Thai women has been convicted of trafficking her daughter into prostitution.  After pleading guilty the woman has been sentenced to nine years in jail with a non parole period of four years.  In sentencing her Justice David Boddice said that is was “shocking, despicable and reprehensible” that a mother should treat her child as a commodity.  Read more…
